Agate
Brings protection, strength and courage to the holder. Builds self confidence and acceptance of one’s self. A stone of truth, it encourages speaking one’s own truth. Enhances creativity. Can be used to help find solutions to problems. Good for the nervous system. Grounding stone, bringing emotional, physical and intellectual balance. Harmonizes yin and yang. Aids in centering and stabilizing physical energy. Stabilizes the aura, eliminating and transforming negative energies. Its multiple layers can bring hidden information to light, great for meditation and Shamanic journeys. Aids self analysis and perception of hidden circumstances, bringing to your attention any disease. Enhance mental function by improving concentration, perception, and analytical abilities, leading to practical solutions.

The above is true for agates in general. Some particular types of agates have their own properties, as described below.

Agate, Blue Lace
A gentle, calming stone that engenders tranquility. Associated with the element of Air, it assists in flight, grace, reaching higher spiritual planes, communicating with angels and activates the throat chakra. Can ease the harsh edge of communication in difficult times, enhance public speaking, and smooth discussions. An inspiring stone that can assist in inner attunement, and has been used to perform miracles. As with all agates, it is a protective stone. Physically it has been used to aid with arthritis, headaches, digestive issues, growth, and bones. Counteracts the repression and suppression of feeling that stem from fear of being judged and rejected. Gently dissolves the old pattern of repression and encourages a new mode of expression. Helps men to release and accept their sensitivity and feeling natures. The peaceful energies exuded from this stone neutralize feelings of anger.

Agate, Botswana
Sometimes called the "change stone" because of its property of helping one handle change in a positive way. It gently helps one make transitions of any kind in a way that change is not as difficult or painful as could be without it; it is a comforting stone. Carrying a bit of Botswana agate in your pocket can help one cope easily with the minor changes that life throws at us daily. Relief from depression and/or grief is another property of Botswana agate. It helps focus on solutions instead of problems, and thereby increases creativity. It increases the power of one's intuition. Botswana agate is helpful in overcoming addictions and other self-destructive compulsive behavior patterns, as well as dealing with repressed emotional issues. As a success stone, it helps one achieve and cope with success. It is also a stone of sensuality. Connected to fire and smoke. Looks to solutions instead of dwelling on problems, helps to explore unknown territory and your own creativity.

Agate, dyed blue
This stone has been dyed to create the blue color. It has all the properties of Agate (above) along with the associations of the color blue. Blue stones are cooling and calming. Good for communication, have one on you if you need to give a speech. Blue is also associated with knowledge, truth, openness, and honesty.

Agate, Golden Lace
When you need to turn on the charm, wear this stone to promote friendliness and a contagious happiness. It is also believed that golden lace agate can help relieve depression.

I did not know what this stone was when I got it. I saw it pictured in a Fire Mountain catalog and so I use their name for it. See it online here.
This stone sells by other names (which I'll add as I see them).

Agate, Plume
Facilitate flow of energy, clears the mind, good for meditation, useful when dealing with past events helping us to release conditions that inhibit growth, helps with job hunting.

I do not know the source of these plume agates but I'm pretty sure they are not the grave yard ones.

Agate, Tree
Enhances health of plants, creates a peaceful environment, and can strengthen your connection to the earth. It has been used to bring abundance. Healers use tree agate to align and correct anything with branches (such as blood vessels, nerves, skeletal disorders). Fourth (heart) chakra.

Often confused with Moss Agate. Tree agate is white and green. Moss agate is translucent with green moss-like inclusions.

Amazonite
Amazonite is a mint green to aqua green stone of truth, honor, communication, integrity and trust. Enhances intuition, psychic powers, creativity, intellect, and psychic ability. Amazonite is often associated with the throat chakra, and as such, can be beneficial to communication. Sometimes associated with the heart chakra for loving communication. Opens the third eye. Aligns the physical and astral bodies. It can lessen stress and self-defeating behaviors by calming and building self-esteem. Amazonite can assist with peacefully making the transition out of this life. Heals emotional disturbances and the after effects of emotional trauma. It is reputed to have healing powers of preventive energy that's good for one's health in general, decreasing heart problems, benefiting the muscles, helping the nervous system, lessening tooth decay and osteoporosis. Powerful filtering action, blocks geopathic stress, absorbs microwaves and cell phone emanations, protects against electromagnetic pollution.

Amethyst
Extremely powerful and protective stone with high spiritual vibration. Guards against psychic attack, transmuting the energy into love. Soothing and calming, it is said to help if ridding yourself of any addictions, also aids sound sleep. Blocks geopathic stress and negative environment energies. Enhances higher states of consciousness and meditation. Mentally, helps you feel less scattered, more focused and in control of your faculties. Facilitates decision making process, bringing common sense and spiritual insights.

Protects against nightmares, enhances memory and improves motivation. Helps you to remember and understand dreams. Dispels anger, rage, fear, and anxiety, alleviates sadness and grief. Gives insights into the true nature of the divine and encourages selflessness and spiritual wisdom. Opens intuition and enhances psychic gifts. Stimulates third eye. Bloodstone AKA Heliotrope
Bloodstone is excellent for centering and grounding. Helps with calming, particularly in survival situation as it teaches how to avoid dangerous situations by strategic withdrawal and flexibility. It brings mystical energies of increasing adaptability and organization, and it lessens confusion and anxiety. Stone of courage, bringing mental, physical and emotional renewal by releasing blockages. It is said to be particularly good for helping emotional traumas and grief. Enhances the intellect. Bloodstone is mystically used to bring energy to one in many ways, including bringing abundance and prosperity, as well as smoothing the way with legal issues. Believed to give the ability to control the weather and to banish evil and negativity, also to direct spiritual energies. In ancient times believed to have been an audible oracle, giving off sounds as a means of guidance. It is associated with the base, sacral, solar plexus and heart chakras. Bloodstone is said by intuitive sources to be helpful in treating anemia and other diseases of the blood, blood pressure, cardiovascular system, endocrine system, kidney, bladder, physical strength issues, physical traumas, and post-surgical issues.

Carnelian
Installs a feeling of well being and inflowing power. Stabilizing stone with high energy. Helps regulate circulation Carnelian is an agate class of chalcedony that is a stone of creativity, individuality and courage. Like all agates, it has protection energies and can aid memory, including recall of past lives. It can assist one in finding the right mate. Banishes emotional negativity, replacing it with a love of life. In addition it can help with manifestation of one's desires, and brings good luck. Placed near a front door invokes protection and invites abundance into the home. Improves analytic abilities and clarifies perception, removes extraneous thoughts in mediation and tunes daydreamers into everyday reality, sharpens concentration and dispels mental lethargy. Carnelian can help ease or remove sorrows. It also helps stabilize energies in the home. Sometimes called the "actor's stone", useful for dramatic pursuits. Carnelian is associated with the root and sacral chakras. Overcomes frigidity and impotence, heals lower back problems. Physically, carnelian has been used to heal open sores, rejuvenate tissues and cells, rheumatism, kidney stones and other kidney problems, gall stones, colds, pollen allergies, and neuralgia.

Chrysocolla
Associated with serenity, intuition, tranquility, peace, patience, subconscious wisdom, nurture, tolerance, acceptance, unconditional love, meditation, calmness, hope gentleness and sensitivity. It is excellent for the heart chakra. It flushes and heals heart blocks such as guilt, loss, hurt or fear. Allows flexibility, self forgiveness, peace of heart and patience. It keeps one in love, light and healing on a daily basis. It is helpful with the heart, blood sugar, and emotional balance. It draws out pain, heat (fevers, arthritis, inflammation, etc.), and is an excellent therapeutic aid for healing loss, incest, and other traumas.

Copper
A major electric conductor, making it a great tool for those involved in energy based healing. Combats lethargy, passivity, restlessness, excitability and non acceptance of ones self. Also brings luck in recovering lost property.

Fluorite
Helps bring order to chaos. Best crystal to overcome any form of disorganization. Highly protective, especially on a psychic level, helps to discern when outside influences are at work within yourself and shuts off psychic manipulation and undue mental influence. A powerful healing stone it also helps calm the over excitable. Strengthens the bones and teeth. Cleanses and stabilizes the aura. Extremely effective against computer and electromagnetic stress. Fluorite is said to produce an energy which leads to organized growth, it is sometimes known as the genius stone. Excellent learning aid, organizes and processes information, linking what is already known with what is being learned. Fluorite stabilizes physical, mental, and emotional and spiritual systems which is why we often use it as a capstone for the wands. Links mind and emotions. Dissolves illusions and reveals truth. Needs cleansing after use.

Clear - Stimulates the crown chakra to clear and energize the auric field. It is used to align the chakras to open pathways between universal energy and the physical, and to facilitate energy transfer from other minerals in the healing state. Blue - produces a calm energy which promotes communication, enhances creativity, calms or revitalizes as needed, amplifies healing potential by tightly focusing brain activity.
Green - grounds excess energy, dissipates emotional trauma, clears infections, effective at absorbing negative energy, brings information up from the subconscious mind and accesses intuition, it is an effective auric, chakra, and mental cleanser dissipating obsolete conditioning. Place in plant pot to keep plants healthy.
Yellow - is used to enhance creativity and promote love between all things. Stabilizes group energy, helpful for cooperative endeavors and intellectual activities.
Purple - stimulates the third eye and imparts common sense to psychic communication. An excellent mediation stone.

Garnet, Red
Garnet is the stone of devotion; to others, to yourself and to your aim. It awakens creativity and helps us to become more productive and achievement oriented. It also attracts good luck. Red garnet inspires romantic love, passion, sexuality, intimacy, sensuality, positive thoughts, energy, inspiration, success within a career, popularity and self confidence. Garnets warm and energize us emotionally and physically. Yang (avoid if excess anger, impatience, high blood pressure, heat, inflammation, etc.) Provides regeneration and balance. Draws negativity away from the chakras. Inspires love and passion. Said to warn of approaching danger and was long ago carried as a protective talisman. Fortifies, activates, and strengthens the survival instinct, bringing courage and hope into seemingly hopeless situations. Amplifies other crystals. If you are going on a trip and want to bring take out a sparkling sort of insurance policy, you should arm yourself with a garnet bracelet in order to come full circle, unhurt and unscathed.Garnet is known as the stone for a successful business. If your business is not as good as it should be, just put 3 or more garnets on your desk. Put under a pillow it will cure depression. Garnets can be used to make a person popular and have self-esteem when worn as jewelry.

Geode
Hold and amplify energy within themselves. Can place another stone/crystal within a geode and the geode will amplify the energy of that stone/crystal, then the energy is slowly released into the room. Used for protection and spiritual growth. Assist in breaking addictions and are beneficial for an addictive or overindulgent personality. Helps to see the whole picture before decision making. Helps to shape one’s own future. Improves communication skills.

Hematite
Encourages optimism and so is great for stress and depression. Dissolves negativity and prevents negative energy from entering the aura. A grounding stone. Good for the blood. Protection. Harmonizes mind, body and spirit, used during out of body journeying it protects the soul and grounds it back into the body. Strong yang element and balances the meridians, redressing yin imbalances. Beneficial for legal situations. Supports timid women, boosts self esteem and survivability, enhances willpower and reliability, confidence. Treats overeating, smoking and any form of overindulgence. Helps to come to terms with mistakes and to accept them as learning experiences rather than disasters. Stimulates concentration and focus, enhances memory and original thought. Useful for studying mathematics and technical skills. Can be used to balance the auric field and align the chakras. Pulls stray energies down through the meridian system and the root chakra. Carrying or wearing can assist one in bringing one’s dreams and aspirations into reality and learning difference between true vision and fantasy. Manifestation. Teaches resolution of polarity, balancing of opposites, and manifestation of light. Hematite, specular
Hematite in tabular crystals with distinct metallic luster. Best specimens from Michigan. Brings grounding and high energy at the same time. Allows one to see the operation of the Divine in the events of everyday life and aids in attaining the ability to comprehend multiple levels of reality simultaneously. Assists light workers in understanding how to bring their high aspirations into unity with physical life. Harmonizes with moldavite, azeztulite, dandurite, prophecy stone, and other high frequency stones, helping to ground their energies. Signifies wisdom gathered in tranquility. Heart chakra, increases love and nurturing. Stabilizes the personality and integrates the mind with the body, promotes self sufficiency. Encourages you to become who you really are, awakens hidden knowledge. Green: most common, calms nervous system, channels passion in constructive ways, harmonize dysfunctional relationships

Jasper
Powerful healer, supreme nurturer. Sustains and supports during stress, brings tranquility and wholeness, unifies all aspects of your life. Reminds people to help each other, aligns chakras. Facilitates Shamanic journeys and dream recall. Protection, grounds energies, absorbs negative energy. Balances yin and yang, aligns physical, emotional, and mental bodies with etheric realms. Clears electromagnetic and environmental pollution. Determination, courage, honesty, quick thinking, organization, imagination, prolongs sexual pleasure, supports during prolonged illness or hospitalization, reenergiezes the body. Jasper works slowly so use for long period of time. The above is true for jasper in general. Some particular types of jasper have their own properties, as described below.

Black Jasper (AKA Blackstone, Basanite)
Highly protective energy. It also has very healing energy. Brings good luck to the bearer in a fight, whether it be a mental, political, legal, or other type of fight. It is also used for protection against lightning. Said to have energies of determining value; It was used as a touchstone for determining gold content in allows for thousands of years. Physically, black jasper is said to be helpful for relieving pain, stomach ailments, foot problems, and hip dysplagia. Black jasper is related to the root chakra. Used for scrying, takes you deep into an altered state of consciousness.

Jasper, Fancy
This gemstone is an opaque creamy beige or gray stone with lavender, green, pink, orange or red swirls and specks. It is said to facilitate tranquility and help eliminate worry and depression. It also might bring mental clarity. Fancy Jasper varies in color from forest green to burgundy and gold. It is useful for general healing.

AKA India agate

Leopard Skin Jasper (AKA Leopard Stone)
A stone of shamanic journeying. It also aids in service to others. Helps discover and connect with one's animal totems or "power" animals. It makes it easier for one to take responsibility properly. Helps with creative visualization. As with all jaspers, this is a protective stone, and it is particularly protective during shamanic journeying. Physically it helps eliminate toxins and decrease body odor, and is very helpful in self-healing. It has properties of protecting the third chakra, but is associated mainly with the root chakra.

Picture Jasper
Picture jasper helps create harmony, proportion, creative visualization, positive things in business pursuits. It brings and shows hidden messages from the past as well as hidden thoughts, fears, and hopes. These qualities make it useful as an emotional/psychological healing stone. Said to be the Earth Mother speaking to her children.

Red Picture Jasper combines the properties of red and picture jaspers.

Red Jasper
Called a stone of fairness and justice because mystical lore claims that it "decreases unjustness and helps in unfair situations". It is also said to enhance responsibility, choice, and compassion. Used in mystical dreamwork, it can enhance dream recall. Associated with the first and second chakras. Metaphysically, it is purported to have a stabilizing effect, and help one take all one's energy and use it in a balanced manner. Helps in all areas of survival, and is a very protective stone. A stone of controlled passion and used to help control one's own passions. Crystal healing lore says that physically it assists in healing by maintaining positive movement with all types of disorders and disease.

Red & Yellow Banded Jasper combines the properties of both.

Yellow Jasper used as good luck in travel by the west Indians, protects during spiritual work, channels positive energy making you feel physically better, solar plexus

Zebra Stone (Jasper):
Zebra Stone Jasper is a rather light weight, dark gray, black and white or pink form of metamorphic schist with a layered, shimmery look, Mined in Australia. Zebra Stone gets its name from the zebra-like patterns. Considered a grounding stone, especially in touch with Aboriginal energies. Wearing Zebra Stone Jewelry is thought to keep one centered with the earth during higher spiritual works. It is said to be important to the 1st and 4th Chakras. Thought to help with depression and anxiety. Zebra Stone serves to stimulate one's physical energy. It is wonderful to provide stamina and endurance. It further teaches that it is not possible to give away all of one's energy or love, and it brings compassion and understanding for others.

Jaspelite (Jaspilite, Jaspalite)
Combines the properties of red jasper and hematite.Very grounding, relates to base chakra. Strong protection stone. Brings balance to your life. Helps to manifest aspirations by keeping you focused and separating dreams from reality.

If tiger eye is present, then it is tiger iron.

Kyanite
Excellent for meditation. It is tranquilizing and stimulates psychic abilities and intuition, powerful transmitter and amplifier of high frequency energies. Helps spiritual energy to manifest in thought. It does not hold negativity and never requires cleaning. Encourages speaking one's truth, and cuts through fears and blockages. It encourages communication and self expression. Kyanite treats muscular disorders, fevers, thyroid, adrenal glands, throat and brain. It is a natural pain reliever, lowers blood pressure and heals infections. Another bit of kyanite info is that is aligns the chakras immediately, as soon as you put it on. Kyanite is an interesting gem that was discovered during the nineteenth century. The most highly prized kyanite is the vibrant blue or blue-green hue. It is also found in shades of gray, yellow, white and a colorless variety that is considered quite rare. It was once believed that a kyanite suspended from a human hair could follow the earth's magnetic force. Early travelers sometimes used it as a compass when exploring unknown territories. The fan like clusters or blades that are formed by kyanite make it an ideal stone for restoring energy balance. It is a very effective energy conduit that can balance most systems of the body. It can quickly create stillness and tranquility, making it an excellent stone for meditation. It carries a very "light" energy that attracts light beings (angels, spirit guides, extraterrestrial). Labradorite
Labradorites often display beautiful optical effects as light interacts with the plate like structure of this mineral. This results in golds, blues, and coppery reds as the stone is turned in light. Helps one work around changing situations. Relieves insecurity, apprehension and reduces stress. Brings patience to the holder. Promotes psychic abilities, strength of will, and feelings of worth. Strengthens and protects ones aura. Aids in communicating with our highest self and our creator. Said to be helpful in the treatment of disorders of the brain, to stimulate mental acuity and reduce anxiety and stress. Helps us to understand intuitive thought from the subconscious mind. It symbolizes the moon, and helps us to move through the required changes in preparation for ascension. Labradorite (also called Spectrolite sometimes) is considered by mystics to be a stone of transformation. It is said to clear, balance and protect the aura. It is purported to help provide clarity and insight into your destiny, as well as attract success. It is used in metaphysics for dream recall, and finding ways to use dreams in daily life. Labradorite is said to increase intuition, psychic development, esoteric wisdom, help with subconscious issues, and provide mental illumination. Labradorite is associated with the solar plexus and brow chakras. a stone of esoteric knowledge, it facilitates initiation into the mysteries. A sister to moonstone, labradorite links to the "darker" Crone aspects of the Goddess, and grants inner knowing of Mystery. It enhances intuition and psychic perception; just like the cord-cutting Crone, it helps the bearer to release judgment, and understand their destiny. Use it to bring Light to the shadowed realms of the self and to connect with the power of the waning Moon. When intended for healing purposes, labradorite should be carried as a touchstone tumbled or in jewelry, and then cleansed under running water. If it's surface becomes cloudy, it should be put in mineral water in placed in the sun for a few days to regenerate and refresh.

Lapis Lazuli
Brings peace and general relaxation to the body and mind. It is said to bring success to relationships. Many believe it protects the holder against physical danger, said to recognize psychic attack, block it, and return the energy to is source. It is known as the stone of truth and integrity. It enhances wisdom and mental clarity, dream works and psychic abilities, stimulating personal and spiritual power. It can help to overcome depression, enhancing feelings of peace and serenity and self acceptance. It is said to bring success in relationships and also brings cheer to the user. It is used in the treatment of disorders of the throat, bone marrow, thymus and immune system and is said to help relieve insomnia and dizziness. Harmonizes emotional, mental, and spiritual levels. Encourages taking charge of life, reveals inner truth.

Denim Lapis
Low-grade lapis lazuli, usually with very little or no pyrite and more white than blue color. The properties are the same. Often sold as sodalite.
