Mastadon Ivory
Dissipates restlessness, anxiety & moodiness. Energy of purity. Promotes vitality.

Moonstone
Called adularia in mineralogical terms. A variety of mineral feldspar that has a soft, pearly luster. Highest grade is white and/or has a rainbow iridescence. Lower grades are grey, brown, yellow, peach, or orange and have opalescence or schiller (twinkling). A female stone good for all women going through transitional stages. Commonly used for period pains. Makes conscious the unconscious and promotes intuition and empathy. Promotes lucid dreaming, especially at the full moon. Enhances psychic abilities and helps develop clairvoyance, worn as a pendent it encourges you to accept your psychic gifts. Balances male and female energies, perfect antidote for the excessively macho man or the overly aggressive female. Opens the mind to sudden impulses, serendipity and synchronicity, care should be taken that it does not induce illusions. Placed under the pillow it will allow for a more peaceful sleep, and is often used as a cure for insomnia, along with amethyst. Moonstone is also used as a stand in for pearl, when pearl is not available.
Black Associated with the dark moon time of the month, brings hidden info to light. Associated with the darker aspects of the goddess. Helps one to look within and face your shadow self.
Blue: color enhanced, refined, high vibrational stone, activation. Creates a gateway to exceedingly high levels of consciousness and mult-dimentions. Enables you to have a foot in both worlds with no duality or conflict and complete clarity of awareness.
Peach or Apricot Wonderful stone of soothing, feminine energy. Calming yet also brightens the emotions and helps to improve the wearer's self-image. It reminds us of our own worth and divinity. Invokes sensuality and gentle passion. The color reminds of the enchanted feeling when the full moon is huge, orange and low on the horizon.
Rainbow - also known as spectrolite, has a rainbow iridescence. It carries vibration of cosmic light, brings spiritual healing, helps to see the unseen, intuitively read symbols. May leave sensitve people feeling psychially or emotionally overwhelmed. Powrfully attuned to the phases of the moon, might be too much to wear at the full moon.
Silver Grey Invokes the reflective, intuitive power and Goddess energy of the waning moon. Eases frustrations and lends a greater ability ability to flow and move in harmony natural tides of life.

Obsidian, Black
Formed when lava is quickly cooled. Works extremely fast and with great power (due to the fact that it cooled so quickly it had no time to crystalize) Nothing can be hidden from obsidian. Helps us to grow. Deep soul healing. Strongly protective, forming a shield against negativity. Blocks psychic attacks and removes negative spiritual influences. If placed by bed or under a pillow can draw out mental stress and tension, may have a calming effect but can also bring up the reason for that stress. Since it is so effective in soaking up negative energies, it must be cleaned under running water often. Stimulates grownth on all levels, urges exploration of the unknown, opening new horizons. Brings purification, transformation, inner growth, fulfillment, metamorphoses, manifestation, introspection, practicality, psychic ability and the correct use of inner power. This stone exposes our rationalizations and illusions about ourselves. Powerful and creatve, grounds the soul and spiritual forces into the physcial plane. Self control. Reverses previous misuse of power and addresses power issues on all levels teaching to be empowered for the good of all.

According to my research, Apache Tear is a certain type of obsidian. Apache Tears are translucent when held to the light. If you cannot see through it then it is obsidian.

Obsidian, Snowflake
Black obsidian with white "snowflakes". A very powerful healing stone that absorbs negativity and offers protection for sensitive people. Provides balance for the body, mind and spirit. It is a stone of purity, bringing balance to mind, body and spirit. Keeps us balanced during times of change. This stone releases many pent up feelings, use rose quartz after working with it to help relieve the feelings this stone can unearth.

Petrified Wood
Petrified wood can assist anyone who is feeling stuck or experiencing being frozen in time. Helps to create balance and offers a foundation from which to launch new goals or undertake a different path. A wonderful grounding stone. It helps calm scattered energies. Particularly useful in calming survival-based fears, as it assists one in accessing their practical side for answers, then offering a feelings of safety and security. A stone of business success, and a good stone for general protection. It also offers "gentle hours in the day", to assist one in keeping pace with the day, keeping the hours from neither hurrying by or moving to slow...you are therefore moving forward in a good and steady way. Helps one feel that all will be right, and to be connected to their spirit in such a way that ones knows that time is not really what it appears, and that there is no such real thing as time...just forever. During a crisis, a piece of Petrified Wood will give you strength and support, providing insight into cause and effect. You will remember lessons, avoiding repetitive mistakes. Helps you forget petty worries, so that no thought or action is useless. Excellent gem for leaders. Quartz, Ice (aka Clear Quartz)
Absorbs negativity. Gives strength and energy. Excellent for healing and channeling. Quartz is a power stone that harmonizes and balances. It enhances energy and thoughts, and purifies the spiritual, mental, and physical. It is also a powerfully protective stone, bringing the purified energy in. Historically this crystal has been used to counter black magic, to perform diagnostic healing, and to communicate with spirits and other worlds. Clear quartz, as opposed to colored quartz, is associated with the crown chakra, but also works well on all chakras. Attached to a fuel line in a car, a quartz point reduces fuel consumption (have not tried this, just relaying the info).

Quartz Clusters radiate energy in all directions at once, as do spheres. Quartz points direct energy, double terminated can both recieve and direct energy. Quartz wands will taper down to the point, thus amplifying energy.

Rhodonite
An aid to the heart, promotes friendship and goodwill. Emotional balancer that nurtures love and encourgaes the brotherhood of humanity. Has the ability to show both sides of an issue. Stimulates, clears and activates the heart and heart chakra. Grounds energy, balances yin and yang, aids in acheiving one’s highest potential. Enchances mantra based meditation, aligning the soul more closely to the vibration. “First aid stone’ that heals emotional shock and panic, lending supportive energy to the soul during the process. Extrememly beneficial in cases of emotional self destruction, co-dependency and abuse. Clears away emotional wounds and scars from the past, brings up painful emotions such as festering resentment or anger and transmutes it. Helps you to recognize that revenge is self destructive and promotes remaining calm in dangerous or upsetting situations. Builds up confidence and alleviates confusion.

Rhodonite with Pyrite - combines the properties of each

Pyrite: is a conducting and energizing stone. Fosters intelligence, logic, and creativity. Encourages communication between the conscious and subconscious minds and in between the left and right hemispheres of the brain. It promotes psychic development, memory and optimism. It allows one to unfold their unique talents and abilities. Excellent energy shield, blocks out negative energy and pollutants at all levels. Postitive stone, overcomes inerti and feelings of inadequacy, facillitates tapping into abilities and potential, stimulating the flow of ideas.

Ruby in Zoisite
Ruby crystals embedded in green zoisite. Amplifies the entire energy field of the body, which helps us to realise and reach our potential. The combination of ruby zoisite has been seen as magical. Very powerful gemstone for psychic abilities. Can be used for channeling spirits. In Asian countries it was used by healers for diagnostic healing. It is a creative gemstone and is very helpful to bring out creative energies. Because zoisite has stabilising qualities this helps the person to realise their own ideas and innate creativity. On its own ruby is associated with passion and can bring anger to the surface. But teamed with zoisite, because of its cooling and stabilising qualities, softens the ruby's qualities. The colour red in correlation to the chakras applys to creativity and sexuality. The colour green relates to healing, balancing, and abundance. Because of this mix ruby zoisite is great for when passion seems overwhelming. Great for mending broken hearts and helping to calm obsessive feelings towards another person. Used in treatment of heart, spleen, pancreas and lung disorders and also helps toxins and chemicals to exit the body quickly.

Side note: Zoisite was only discovered in the 19th C. It was named after Barn von Zois who discovered it in Austria. It was made famous by Tiffany Jewelers after which it has become a highly sought after gemstone. Ruby in Zoisite is zoisite with ruby inclusions. Sodalite
Alleviates fear, Calms and clears the mind. Enhances communication. Unites logic with intuition, opens spirtual perception. Deepens meditation. Instills a drive for truth and urge toward idealism, to be true to yourself and stand up for beliefs. Clears electromagnet pollution and can be placed on computer to block their emanations. Helpful for people who are senstive sick buildings or elctromagnetic smog. Useful for group work as it brings harmony and solidary of purpose, stimulates trust and companionship between members of the group, encouraging interdepence. Eliminates mental confusion and intellectual bondage, encourages rational thought, objectivity, truth, intuitive perception, and the verbalization of feelings. Calms the mind, allowing new information to be recieved. Stimulates the release of old mental conditioning and rigid mind sets, creating space to put new insights in practice. Brings emotional balance, calms panic attacks. Transforms defensive or oversensitve personality, releasing core fears, phobias and guilt that hold you back from being who you truely are. Enhances self esteem, self acceptance, self trust.

True sodalite will be dark blue with white lines running throught it. Denim Lapis is sometimes sold as sodalite.

Tourmaline, BlackTourmaline, (Schorl)
Associated with the root or base chakra. Excellent for grounding excess energy. It is a well known as a purifying stone that deflects and transforms negative energy, and thus is very protective. Can transform and remove negativity from an individual or an environment. Often used as an aura cleanser, and can help one attain higher levels of awareness. Black tourmaline is also used for repelling and protecting one from black magic, and is often said to return the negative spell to the sender. Black tourmaline has also been used to deflect radiation energy from TV's and computer monitors. Emotionally, black tourmaline is excellent for dispelling fears, obsessions, and neuroses, bringing emotional stability. Promotes a laid back attitude and objective neutrality with clear rational thought process. Encourages a positive attutude no matter what the circumatances and stiumulates practical creativity. Physically, black tourmaline can strengthen the immune system, help with heart disease, arthritis, and gout. Place point out from the body to draw off negative energy.

Tourmaline, Green (aka Verdelite)
Excellent healer and helpful for visualization. Opens heart chakra, promotes compassion, tenderness, patience and sense of belonging. Brings balance and joy in life. Transfroms negative to positive, dispells fears. Promotes openness and patience. Rejuvenates and inspires creativity. Helps one to see all possible solutions and select most constructive. Magnetizes the wearer to properity and abundance. Facilitates study of herbalism and enhances application of remedies, has the power to heal plants. Aids sleep and quiets the mind.

Blue Tourmaline (Indicolite) Activates throat and third eye chakra. Stimulates the urge for spiritual freedom and clarity of self expression. Brown (Dravide) Excellent grounding stone, clearing and opening earth chakra and grounding cord holding the physical body in carnation. Clears the aura, aligns the etheric body and protects it. Encourages community spirit and social commitment. Makes one feel comfortable in a large group. Helps dysfunctional family relationships and strengthens empathy.
Colorless (Achroite) Synthesizes other colors and opens the crown chakra. Aligns the meridians of the physical and etheric bodies.
Multicolored (Elbaite) Contains all colors, brings mind, body, spirit and soul into wholeness. Excellent for imagery and promoting dreams, inspiring creativity and enhanced imagination, provides a gateway into the inner self and higher spiritual realms.
Pink An aphrodisiac that attracts love, providing assurance that it is safe to love. Inspires trust in love and confirms the necessity to love yourself before you can be loved by another. Assists in sharing physical pleasure. Disperses emotional pain and old destructive feelings through the heart chakra which it cleanses. Synthesizes love with spirituality. Promotes peace and relaxation, connects to wisdom and compassion and stimulates receptivity to healing energy.

Red (Rubellite) Strengthens the ability to understand love, promotes tactfulness and flexibility, sociability and extroversion, balancing too much aggression or overpassivity. Stimulates blood circulation, repairs veins. Watermelon The super activator of the heart chakra, linking it to the higher self and fostering love, tenderness and friendship.
